Business Internship

As we visited with the Saharawi and listened to many women share their hearts regarding the struggles facing entrepreneurs, our business team identified a two-fold challenge: the lack of business experience and a lack of capital to begin a new venture. We developed an eight-month internship program in which four Saharawi women manage, market, and promote a second-hand children’s clothing and toy store. This hands-on experience fosters an environment for interns to learn from their mistakes and their successes. The desire is that they are able to graduate from the program with confidence to start their own venture . The program supplies interns with a daily living allowance and also teaches students to take part in a community savings group which can serve as a source of capital for funding their own project.
